Dr. David Y. Ko
Chiropractic Physician & Acupuncturist
Dr. Ko attended Samra University of Oriental Medicine where he received his Masters in Oriental Medicine. He is an avid supporter of the Autism community. Dr. Ko continues to work with top Acupuncture professors, clinical directors and various other doctors from Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine who are the top specialists for treating autistic children in China. Dr. Ko remains current with the most updated treatments for his patients. He attends many post-graduate seminars throughout the world to provide advanced cutting edge treatments for his patients.
Dr. Ko attended Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles where he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic. He also received special recognition for his volunteer work while in clinic, where he treated patients in collaboration with medical facilities at University of Southern California and the Venice Beach Family Clinic.
Dr. Ko actively participates in giving back to the community. As a local resident who grew up in Skokie attending Lincoln Jr. High and Niles North High School, he worked as a volunteer spending more than 5000 hours at St. Francis and Rush North Shore Hospitals combined. He also assisted with establishing a volunteer group such as We Help Others (W.H.O) Club at Niles North where community service was the main focus. He supports the community by serving as one of volunteering team Doctors for Niles North High School since 2009 and Commissioner of Human Relations of the Village of Skokie from 2012 to 2017. Dr. Ko is also the Chair of Secretary of State of Illinois Jesse White's Annual Family and Senior Health Fair since 2009 and Board Advisor for the International Asian And American Association of Chicago. He has served in the capacity of President on the School Board for two out of the twelve years and is a Master Board Member. Winning re-elections in 2015, 2019 and 2023. Dr. Ko is currently on the Board of Directors for USA Muay Thai Team. Dr. Ko is also the Democratic Delegate 9th Congressional district for the State of Illinois in 2020.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending a lot of time with his 3 children attending all their extracurricular activities and traveling with his family. Dr. Ko also volunteers with the Sports Medicine Team at multiple U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Centers. Dr. Ko has over a decade of involvement with the Team USA medical team and served at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.
