Dr. Mark Jonathan Schacht is a Board certified Urologist. He graduated from the University of Michigan Inteflex Combined Premedical/Medical Program, performed 2 years of General Surgery Residency at Duke University Medical Center and completed his Urology residency at Northwestern University Medical Center. He did a 1-year research fellowship during his training.

Presently, he is an Attending Urologist at St. Francis Hospital, Swedish Covenant Hospital and the NorthShore Endeavor Health System. He has been an Instructor in the Department of Urology at Northwestern University Medical Center, as well as at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He also has been a Clinical Assistant Professor in Surgery (Urology) at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.

His current academic appointment is as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery (Urology) at the University of Illinois. He serves as the Vice Chairman in the Department of Urology at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, and as the Site Director for the Midwestern University Urology Residency at that hospital. He is the Contributing Medical Editor for the American Medical Associations 'Complete Guide to Men's Health, among other publications.

He has lectured both nationally and internationally. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, American Urological Association, American Urologic Association, National Board of Medical Examiners, Chicago Medical Society, Illinois State Medical Society, Society of University Urologists, Chicago Urological Society, Illinois State Urological Society, Council of the Metropolitan Chicago Chapter, and the American College of Surgeons. He is the past president of the Chicago Urologic Society, and continues to serve on both its' Executive Committee and as its representative to the Illinois State Urologic Society.
